The Team
The Fund will be overseen by a Board of Directors with a deep wealth of experience in business and expertise in early-stage investing.
The Board comprises of five Directors selected from the joint venture partners.
The Directors have been selected based on their commercial and early-stage investment experience in order to provide strong governance and to monitor the performance of the Fund on behalf of investors.
John McDonald - Chairman
Over 30 years experience in executive and management positions with the former Fletcher Challenge group of companies. Director of ICE Angels, Air New Zealand Limited, Solid Energy New Zealand Limited, Dairy Equity Limited and Horizon Energy Distribution Limited. He is also Chairman of Pohutukawa Private Equity Limited.
Phil Holliday - Director
Entrepreneur and investor with over 35 years in the ICT and broader technology industries. Managing Director of Holliday Corporation, Chairman of Powerhouse Ventures.
Dr Norman Evans - Director
CEO of Upstart, Director of Dunedin City Holdings Limited, Aurora Energy Limited, Delta Utilities Limited, Citibus Limited, City Forests Limited, Upstart Angels Limited, Enabling NZ Limited, and Enabling Pty Limited (Aus).
Andrew Duff - Director
A solicitor and chartered accountant. Director with Credit Suisse based in London, chairman of Sparkbox Limited and 2 Ignite Limited, director of Blue Limited, Gold Limited.
Franceska Banga - Director
Chief Executive of NZVIF Limited since 2001. Chair of the NZVCA, member of the Capital Markets Task Force.
Richard Palmer - Investment Director
Richard joined NZVIF in 2006 and as Investment Director is responsible for the day to day operation of the Halo Fund and the $40 million Seed Co-Investment Fund.
